ETC encourages actors of all ages, races, backgrounds and gender identities to audition.

What we’re looking for:

  • Actors who are highly versatile. Actors must rapidly switch between characters with different genders, ages, and styles (e.g. swapping from Romeo to Juliet, or Hamlet to Ophelia) within seconds.
  • Improvisational skills. Performers will often engage directly with the audience, requiring an ability to react to and improvise with audience members
  • The roles demand high-energy physical comedy, quick costume changes, and often absurd characterizations.
  • Actors with the ability to take a meta-theatrical approach. Characters are actors putting on a show, making the acting style self-referential
  • Fast-Paced delivery, the condensed script is rapid-fire and covers all 37 plays in a short timeframe.

All 37 plays in 97 minutes! Three madcap men in tights weave their wicked way through
all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave
you breathless and helpless with laughter. An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the
Bard’s plays, THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED)
was London’s longest-running comedy.

“If you like Shakespeare, you’ll like this show. If you hate Shakespeare, you’ll love this
show!” —The Today Show

“Wildly funny. Masterful!” —The Los Angeles Times

“Shakespeare as it was back in the Bard’s day: bawdy, irreverent, sublimely
entertaining.” —The Miami Herald

"Great vehicle for superb acting . Costumes excellent , spacing, and pace perfect. Best performance we have seen at Eventide but it's been awhile since we attended. Productions such as importance of being earnest are Boffo !"
