REWATCH HOLIDAY STORIES OF EVENTIDE TALES

It’s a holiday story hour with your favorite local actors!

  • Robert Bock will read The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde.

A very mean giant walls off his garden so that the children cannot play there, but he has a change of heart when spring refuses to come.

  • Cleo Zani will read A Present for Big Saint Nick by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

In this decidedly off-beat Christmas tale, a Chicago mobster dresses up a Santy Claus and gives gifts to the children of his employees, but the children dread their annual visit.

  • Bonnie Fairbanks will read Papa Panov’s Special Christmas by Anton Chekov.

Old Papa Panov, the shoemaker, brings joy to the unfortunate in his village at Christmas while waiting for a special visitor.

  • Janet Geist Moore will read Hershele and Hanukkah by Isaac Bashevis Singer.

A fawn visits a Rebbe and his wife during the Festival of Lights that foretells a miracle for the childless couple.

  • Toby Wilson will read Another Christmas Carol by P.G. Wodehouse.

Egbert Mulliner is shocked that his doctor tells him he must lose weight at Christmas time, just before he attends his aunt’s sumptuous Christmas dinner.

  • Sara Sneed Wilson will read The Gift of The Magi by O. Henry.

A poor couple learn the true spirit of giving in this classic tale of Christmas.

It’s fiction brought to life through the voices of some of the best performers in our region and you’ll find it here:
