Winner of Eventide Arts 2011 Songwriters Competition!! Drawing on their love of art song, folk song, industrial music, improvised music, and heart-wrenching balladry, violinist/vocalist Carla Kihlstedt, and drummer/keyboardist Matthias Bossi have formed Hello Dust, a duo whose sound echoes their critically-acclaimed projects (Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Tin Hat, 2 Foot Yard, The Book of Knots, Fred Frith's Cosa Brava) and dares ...to peel back its influences... and reveal music that is stripped down and courageously intimate. Hello Dust is raw and beautiful, sparse and richly textured, lighthearted and full of pathos.

Armed with a motley assortment of instruments from a motley assortment of eras (violin, nyckelharpa, pump organ, cajon, Fender Rhodes, foot accordion, bass harmonica, and of course, their voices), they conjure cinematic and poetic landscapes, bringing to life the small stories of unsung heros... and almost always telling the truth.
